  1. The sense of light is really great. I love the peachy warm tones interacting with the vibrant pink mushrooms. I'm wondering however if maybe you could use some blue bounce light coming of the surface of the water to turn the forms of your mushrooms a little more? That would help me as a viewer then your mushroom in the center wouldn't look as flat if you had some light interacting with its bottom surface.

  2. Great warmth and colours to the piece, I especially like the sense of volume in the tentacles of the mushrooms. I think your composition is working, but the little figure at the top could use some sharper clarification, as i find myself drawn to them after looking at the mushroom in the foreground.

Perhaps Break the waterfall up into big medium and tiny pieces, so it doesn't feel quite as uniform (Example: http://www.shauntmax30.com/1342022-cool-waterfall-backgrounds.html). I really like the textures you've got in the cavern wall, but the environment feels quite dry. It would add a lot of humility to the climate if you added more vegetation to the piece. You could do this through vines or moss, tinier versions of the mushrooms scattered randomly about, or through more variety of mushrooms. If you search fungus in google you'll get lots of ideas of how to approach this.

  3. Good work. This feels better and has come a long way since the WIP version. As others have mentioned, you've got a good sense of the lighting and local color started here. (I think Vanessa meant "humidity," not "humility.")

The calm water area at the bottom of your piece starts to feel believable, but the falls don't quite get there yet. I would take some time to look at photo reference of falling water and do a few quick studies to try and understand better how it looks when it turns over a cliff, strikes rocks on its way down, foams at the bottom, and reflects the sky in its surface when it returns to relative calm.

  4. I like the composition and how the magentas and blues work together. I kind of wish I could see more of those colors being used in the rocks to help harmonize the whole piece.

Good use of atmospheric perspective on the right mushroom, it really feels up and close to the viewer compared to the others. However I feel it should be bigger. At the moment it feels really small because, though it's much closer, it's not much bigger than the others. normally this may not be an issue but proportionally it's equal with the other mushrooms so it feels odd.

    Nice work!

  5. Mushrooms are the best, am I right? This has come a long way since I saw it last! I think your composition is really strong and you've done a good job communicating the idea. I also like that you added the silhouette someone at the top of the waterfall to show scale. I would think about making the rock walls more interesting, it's a good opportunity to add some more character to your environment. I would also like to see some darker places, like the lower right mushroom in the shadow for example. Great work!

  6. I like the concept, mushrooms are the best. The underside of the main mushroom should be darker. I like the things growing out of the top of the mushrooms and they are painted well. I want to see more interesting things happening on the ground though, the mushrooms aren't really digging into the ground they don't feel connected to the soil. Overall I like the composition.
